VitriFreeze/Thaw dient der Vitrifikation von menschlichen Embryonen zwischen dem Morula und dem Blastozystenstadium.

VitriFreeze sind Sets aus verschiedenen Medien zum Einfrieren der (Prä-)Embryonen.

Sie basieren auf PBS (Phosphat-gepufferte Kochsalzlösung) und enthalten zusätzlich DMSO/Ethylenglycol, Sucrose, Ficoll und Humanserumalbumin (HIV und Hepatitis getestet). In VitriFreeze/VitriThaw sind keine Antibiotika enthalten.

VitriFreeze™is set of culture media designed for the vitrification of morula and blastocyst stage human embryos.

Vitrification is preservation at extremely low temperatures without freezing. More favourable than slow cooling (Kuleshova and Lopata; 2002) due to variable results after application of slow-freezing methods for blastocysts.

The success rates of vitrification have been increased with the use of ultra-rapid vitrification procedures.
